**Dutasteride + tamsulosin hydrochloride** is a fixed-dose combination medication used in the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. The combination consists of two pharmacologically distinct drugs: **dutasteride**, a dual 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that reduces the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), thereby decreasing prostate size; and **tamsulosin hydrochloride**, a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist that relaxes the smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck to improve urinary flow. This combination provides more effective relief of BPH symptoms and reduces disease progression compared with monotherapy.
