Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Duvie + Januvia is a combination therapy for type 2 diabetes mellitus consisting of imeglimin (brand name Duvie) and sitagliptin (brand name Januvia). Imeglimin is an oral antidiabetic agent that acts by improving mitochondrial function and enhancing both insulin secretion and sensitivity. Sitagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases incretin levels, thereby stimulating insulin release and decreasing glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. This combination targets multiple pathophysiological defects in type 2 diabetes to improve glycemic control.
