Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DW1029M + losartan is a fixed-dose combination therapy being developed by Dong-A ST for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. DW1029M is a botanical drug candidate composed of extracts from *Morus alba* (mulberry) and *Stevia rebaudiana* leaves, which has demonstrated glucose-lowering and renoprotective effects in preclinical models. Losartan is a standard-of-care angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to manage hypertension and protect renal function in diabetic patients. The combination aims to provide synergistic effects in reducing albuminuria and slowing the progression of kidney damage in patients with type 2 diabetes by combining the metabolic and anti-inflammatory benefits of the botanical extract with the hemodynamic benefits of the ARB.
