Overview

**DWP14012 + celecoxib** is a combination investigational oral therapy comprising DWP14012 (also known as fexuprazan or abeprazan, a potassium-competitive acid blocker) and celecoxib (a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor). DWP14012 reversibly inhibits the gastric H+,K+-ATPase enzyme, resulting in acid suppression in the stomach, and is being developed as an alternative to proton pump inhibitors for acid-related disorders. Celecoxib acts as a COX-2-selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), used to reduce inflammation and pain. This combination would be expected to provide gastrointestinal protective effects (from DWP14012) along with anti-inflammatory and analgesic action (from celecoxib), which may be useful especially when using NSAIDs in patients at risk for gastric mucosal injury[1][4].
