Overview
DWP14012 + clarithromycin is a combination therapy consisting of DWP14012 (abeprazan), a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), and clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic. DWP14012 inhibits gastric H+, K+-ATPase, resulting in potent and sustained suppression of gastric acid secretion[1][7]. Clarithromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, and is commonly used in combination therapies for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication and related acid-associated conditions. This combination may be investigated or used for ulcer healing or H. pylori eradication due to the synergistic effects of acid suppression (by DWP14012) and bacterial killing (by clarithromycin)[1][2][7].
