Overview

Dyclonine + salbutamol is a combination medication that pairs a local anesthetic (dyclonine) with a bronchodilator (salbutamol). Dyclonine works by blocking both the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses by decreasing the neuronal membrane's permeability to sodium ions, stabilizing the membrane and inhibiting depolarization. Salbutamol (also known as albuterol) works by relaxing and opening up the airways, making breathing easier and improving symptoms like shortness of breath, chest tightness, and wheezing. This combination may be used for procedures like awake intubation, though some research suggests caution with this specific combination.
