Overview

EBV-Specific CTLs + CD45 monoclonal antibody is a combination therapy that pairs Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes with an anti-CD45 monoclonal antibody. The CD45 component targets the leukocyte common antigen (LCA), which is expressed by all nucleated hematopoietic cells excluding mature erythrocytes and platelets. CD45 is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase that plays an important role in lymphocyte activation and development. The anti-CD45 antibody component can be used to deliver targeted radiation to hematopoietic tissues while sparing normal organs, making it particularly useful in treating hematologic malignancies like leukemia. The EBV-specific CTLs provide an immunotherapeutic approach targeting EBV-associated malignancies.
