Overview

Eciskafusp alfa + atezolizumab is a combination investigational therapy evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced cancers. Eciskafusp alfa (RO7284755) is a recombinant fusion protein designed to activate immune responses against tumors, whereas atezolizumab is a humanized anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibody approved for multiple cancers. Atezolizumab blocks the interaction between PD-L1 and its receptors (PD-1 and CD80) on T cells, thereby restoring T-cell mediated tumor cell killing. The combination is hypothesized to result in synergistic antitumor immunomodulation by both activating effector T cells (eciskafusp alfa) and relieving immune inhibition (atezolizumab)[1][2][5][6].
