Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Stenide is a topical fixed-dose combination cream developed by Navana Pharmaceuticals, containing the broad-spectrum imidazole antifungal econazole nitrate (1%) and the synthetic corticosteroid triamcinolone acetonide (0.1%). Econazole nitrate exerts its antifungal effect by inhibiting lanosterol 14-alpha demethylase (CYP51), thereby disrupting ergosterol synthesis and compromising fungal cell membrane integrity. Triamcinolone acetonide acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, suppressing local inflammatory responses, reducing capillary permeability, and alleviating symptoms such as redness, swelling, and itching. Stenide is indicated for the short-term treatment of inflammatory dermatomycoses and eczematous skin conditions complicated by or threatened by bacterial or fungal infections, including tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and diaper dermatitis.
