Overview

**ecopipam + divalproex sodium extended-release** is an investigational oral combination therapy consisting of ecopipam, a selective dopamine D1 receptor antagonist, and divalproex sodium in an extended-release (ER) formulation, a broad-spectrum antiepileptic and mood stabilizer that acts primarily as a GABAergic enhancer and sodium channel blocker. Ecopipam has primarily been developed and studied for neuropsychiatric conditions such as Tourette syndrome and movement disorders, while divalproex sodium ER is approved for bipolar disorder, epilepsy (various seizure types), and migraine prophylaxis[1][2][3][4]. The combination may be explored experimentally for neurodevelopmental or psychiatric disorders, but as of now, it is not an approved or standard combination therapy.
