EFE-P100 + docetaxel is an investigational combination therapy comprising the use of the tumor treating fields (TTFields) device EFE-P100 and the chemotherapy agent docetaxel. EFE-P100 is a non-invasive medical device that generates alternating electric fields at specific frequencies and intensities to disrupt mitosis and inhibit tumor cell division. Docetaxel is a taxane-based chemotherapeutic agent that stabilizes microtubules, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. This combination is studied for use in stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients who have progressed following platinum-based chemotherapy and anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody treatment[1][3][7]. The principal rationale is that simultaneous inhibition of cell division by alternating electric fields and cytotoxic chemotherapy may result in enhanced antitumor efficacy.
