Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Effaclar Duo+M is a triple-action corrective treatment for oily and acne-prone skin developed by La Roche-Posay. It is formulated to target severe and recurring imperfections, blackheads, and post-acne marks. The key innovation in this version is the inclusion of **Phylobioma**, an active ingredient derived from green science that specifically targets the *Cutibacterium acnes* phylotype IA1 to help rebalance the skin's microbiome and reduce biofilm formation. Other active components include **Niacinamide** for soothing and reducing redness, **Salicylic Acid** and **LHA** for exfoliation and pore-unclogging, **Procerad** (a patented ceramide) to prevent red or brown post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and **Zinc PCA** to regulate sebum production. It is clinically indicated for the management of acne-prone skin and the prevention of blemish recurrence.
