Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Efgartigimod PH20 SC + prednisone** is a combination therapy consisting of efgartigimod PH20 SC (a humanized IgG1 Fc fragment engineered to selectively block the neonatal Fc receptor and reduce circulating IgG autoantibodies) and oral prednisone (a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid immunosuppressant)[1][3][5]. Efgartigimod PH20 is co-formulated with recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20 to enable rapid subcutaneous administration[1][5]. The rationale for this combination is to provide rapid autoimmune disease control (notably in pemphigus) with reduced corticosteroid reliance and toxicity[1][3]. In clinical trials, the combination induces early disease control (median 17 days) and complete remission in a majority of patients with pemphigus vulgaris or pemphigus foliaceus[1][3]. Efgartigimod PH20 SC is also being studied with oral corticosteroids in other autoimmune indications.
