Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Eftilagimod alfa + pembrolizumab is an investigational combination immunotherapy regimen for cancer. Eftilagimod alfa (efti) is a soluble LAG-3 protein that acts as an MHC class II agonist to activate antigen-presenting cells and enhance T cell responses. Pembrolizumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed death-1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, blocking its interaction with PD-L1/PD-L2 and thereby promoting anti-tumor immune activity. The combination aims to provide complementary activation of the immune system by stimulating both innate and adaptive immunity. This regimen has shown promising efficacy in clinical trials for recurrent/metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), metastatic non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and soft tissue sarcoma[2][3][4][5][6].
