Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EGFR(V)-EDV-Dox is a targeted nanotherapeutic agent developed for the treatment of cancers such as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). It consists of bacterially derived minicells (EnGeneIC EDV™ technology) that package doxorubicin as a cytotoxic payload. The minicells are approximately 400 nm in size and are engineered to target cancer cells overexpressing epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) via bispecific antibodies attached to their surface. This approach aims to deliver high concentrations of chemotherapy directly to tumor cells while minimizing systemic toxicity[1][3][5].
