Overview

**EGFR BATs** are an investigational autologous adoptive T-cell therapy developed by the University of Virginia. Patient-derived activated T cells are armed ex vivo with an anti-CD3 × anti-EGFR bispecific antibody, enabling the cells to bridge CD3 on T cells with epidermal growth factor receptor-expressing tumor cells, activate cytotoxic T-cell responses, and induce non-MHC-restricted killing of EGFR-positive cancer cells. The program is in Phase 1 development for newly diagnosed MGMT-unmethylated IDH-wild-type glioblastoma and eligible gliosarcoma, including a study combining intravenous EGFR BAT infusions with low-intensity focused ultrasound-mediated blood-brain barrier opening.
