EGFR-TKIs + PD-1 monoclonal antibody

This combination regimen involves the sequential or concurrent administration of a third-generation EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), such as osimertinib or aumolertinib, and a programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibody, specifically sintilimab. The EGFR-TKI component targets activating mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor to inhibit tumor cell proliferation, while sintilimab blocks the PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoint to restore T-cell mediated anti-tumor immunity. This specific regimen is being evaluated in a Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT04413201) sponsored by Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University, as a first-line treatment for patients with treatment-naïve, EGFR-mutant advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
