Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EGFRvIII CAR-T is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Guangzhou FineImmune Biotechnology for the treatment of glioblastoma. The therapy utilizes the company's SUPER CAR-T platform to engineer T cells that specifically target the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor variant III (EGFRvIII), a tumor-specific mutation frequently expressed in glioblastoma multiforme but absent in healthy tissues. By binding to EGFRvIII-expressing cells, the CAR-T cells initiate targeted cytotoxicity to eliminate malignant cells while minimizing off-target effects on normal brain tissue.
