Overview

EGFRvIII CAR-T is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by YaKe Biotechnology for the treatment of glioblastoma. The therapy specifically targets the epidermal growth factor receptor variant III (EGFRvIII), a tumor-specific mutation found in approximately 30% of glioblastomas but absent in normal brain tissue. By engineering a patient's T cells to express a CAR that recognizes this neoantigen, the therapy aims to induce targeted lysis of malignant cells while minimizing off-target toxicity to healthy brain tissue. The candidate is currently in the preclinical stage of development, representing a cellular immunotherapy approach to addressing aggressive solid tumors in the central nervous system.
