Overview

Nutshell Therapeutics is developing a small-molecule inhibitor of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) for the treatment of solid tumors. Discovered using the company's proprietary AlloStar allosteric drug discovery platform, the compound is designed to block cap-dependent translation initiation. This process is frequently dysregulated in cancer cells, leading to the over-expression of oncogenic proteins that drive tumor growth and survival. By targeting eIF4E allosterically, the drug aims to provide a more selective and potent inhibition of the translation initiation complex. The program is currently in the discovery stage.
