Overview

This is a fixed-dose combination drug containing **elsulfavirine**, **levonorgestrel**, and **ethinylestradiol**. Elsulfavirine is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) investigated for the treatment of HIV infection. Levonorgestrel is a synthetic progestin, and ethinylestradiol is a synthetic estrogen; together these two are established hormonal components in combined oral contraceptives, used primarily for pregnancy prevention by inhibiting ovulation and altering cervical mucus and the endometrium[1][3][5][9]. There is no evidence from current sources that a combination product of these three specific drugs has marketing authorization, trade names, or clinical use as a unit. The presence of both HIV therapy (elsulfavirine) and hormonal contraception (levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol) in one formulation suggests potential development interest for HIV-positive women needing contraception, but such a product is not known to be marketed or approved as of the current date.
