Drug intelligence / Profile preview
emactuzumab + paclitaxel is an investigational combination of emactuzumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting colony-stimulating factor-1 receptor (CSF1R), with paclitaxel, a microtubule-stabilizing chemotherapeutic agent. Emactuzumab depletes tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in the tumor microenvironment, potentially enhancing anti-tumor immunity. Paclitaxel disrupts cell division by stabilizing microtubules. This combination was evaluated in Phase 1 trials in patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors, including breast and ovarian cancer, mainly to assess safety, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and preliminary efficacy.
