EMD72000 F(ab')2-HRP conjugate is a research-grade bioconjugate consisting of F(ab')2 fragments of the humanized anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody matuzumab (EMD72000) chemically linked to deglycosylated horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The F(ab')2 fragments are generated via pepsin digestion of the parent antibody to reduce the molecule's size and eliminate Fc receptor-mediated binding, which improves tumor penetration and reduces non-specific background. This conjugate specifically targets the epidermal growth factor receptor variant III (EGFRvIII), a mutation frequently found in glioblastoma and other solid tumors. It is primarily utilized as a diagnostic imaging tool in preclinical research, often in conjunction with a glucose oxidase (GOX)-linked conjugate, to achieve enzymatic signal amplification for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of tumors in orthotopic human glioma models.
