Overview
Care Dipine Plus is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive medication developed and marketed by Multicare Farmacéutica. It contains enalapril maleate, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, and lercanidipine hydrochloride, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. The combination is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by lercanidipine or enalapril monotherapy. Enalapril works by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion, while lercanidipine inhibits the influx of extracellular calcium into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac cells, causing peripheral vasodilation. Together, these complementary mechanisms of action provide synergistic blood pressure reduction with a favorable tolerability profile.
