Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Enavogliflozin + gemigliptin + metformin is a triple combination therapy being developed by Daewoong Pharmaceutical for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The combination consists of enavogliflozin (DWP16001), a selective sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor that promotes urinary glucose excretion; gemigliptin (DWC202204), a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases incretin levels to enhance insulin secretion; and metformin (DWC202205), a biguanide that reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity. This combination is designed to provide intensive glycemic control in patients who have insufficient blood sugar control with dual therapy or standard-of-care treatments.
