Overview

Endoret (PRGF), or Plasma Rich in Growth Factors, is an autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) technology developed by BTI Biotechnology Institute for regenerative medicine. It involves the preparation of a platelet-enriched plasma fraction from a patient's own blood, which, upon activation with calcium chloride, forms a biodegradable fibrin scaffold and releases a concentrated pool of biologically active proteins, including epidermal growth factor (EGF), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and nerve growth factor (NGF). These factors act on various cell surface receptors to promote cell recruitment, proliferation, and differentiation. In ophthalmology, it is formulated as topical eye drops to treat ocular surface toxicity and promote corneal healing, particularly in patients with glaucoma or dry eye disease. The technology is also widely used in dentistry, orthopedics, and dermatology.
