Overview

This is a combination of two pharmaceutical drugs, enoxaparin and rosuvastatin. Enoxaparin is a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) anticoagulant that enhances the inhibition of factor Xa and IIa (thrombin) by antithrombin III, thereby reducing blood clot formation. It is primarily used for the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, and as adjunct therapy in acute coronary syndromes[4][7]. Rosuvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that lowers cholesterol by inhibiting the rate-limiting step in cholesterol biosynthesis, leading to decreased LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol[6]. The combination has been studied as a potential strategy for thromboprophylaxis—particularly to prevent venous thromboembolism—in high-risk populations such as patients undergoing surgery for ovarian cancer[3]. Each drug acts via distinct mechanisms to reduce thrombotic risk.
