Overview
entinostat + gemcitabine + cisplatin is a combination chemotherapy regimen being investigated as a second-line treatment for unresectable locally advanced or metastatic bladder cancer. The regimen consists of entinostat, a selective class I histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, administered alongside the standard chemotherapy agents gemcitabine and cisplatin. Entinostat acts as an epigenetic modulator, aiming to reverse cisplatin resistance by targeting histone modification pathways, thereby enhancing the cytotoxic efficacy of the chemotherapy. This combination is being evaluated in clinical trials led by The Affiliated Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School to improve outcomes in patients who have progressed on prior therapies.
