Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**EP-100 + paclitaxel** is a combination therapy consisting of **EP-100**, a novel Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH) receptor-targeted membrane-disrupting peptide, and **paclitaxel**, a standard-cytotoxic microtubule inhibitor. EP-100 selectively binds to and rapidly disrupts the membranes of LHRH receptor-expressing cancer cells, leading to necrosis, and potentiates chemotherapy efficacy, possibly through reversal of taxane resistance and modulation of membrane permeability. The combination has been evaluated in recurrent or refractory LHRH receptor-positive ovarian cancer, showing overall safety and tolerability similar to paclitaxel alone, with signals of enhanced efficacy in patients with liver metastases.
