Experimental Group 3 refers to a specific triple-combination therapeutic regimen consisting of epinephrine, vasopressin, and the corticosteroid methylprednisolone. This combination is being investigated by Korea University Guro Hospital in the VSE Study for the treatment of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). The rationale for this combination is to leverage the potent vasopressor effects of epinephrine and vasopressin to maintain coronary perfusion pressure during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), while utilizing methylprednisolone to mitigate the systemic inflammatory response and potential adrenal insufficiency associated with post-cardiac arrest syndrome. The study aims to determine if this combination improves the rate of return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) and long-term neurological outcomes compared to standard epinephrine-only treatment.
