Overview
This is a combination regimen used in oncology, typically for the treatment of certain advanced or aggressive cancers. The regimen combines four cytotoxic chemotherapy agents (epirubicin, cyclophosphamide, paclitaxel, and carboplatin) with pembrolizumab, an immune checkpoint inhibitor. Epirubicin and cyclophosphamide are anthracycline and alkylating agents respectively; paclitaxel is a taxane that stabilizes microtubules; carboplatin is a platinum-based DNA crosslinking agent; pembrolizumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting PD-1 to enhance anti-tumor immune responses[6][5][2]. This combination leverages both direct cytotoxic effects on cancer cells and activation of the immune system against tumors.
