Overview

Epirubicin + pirarubicin is a combination of two anthracycline chemotherapy agents, both of which are small molecule drugs used primarily in the treatment of various cancers. Epirubicin and pirarubicin act by intercalating into DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II, leading to DNA damage and preventing cancer cell replication. Both drugs are known for their antitumor activity, with epirubicin commonly used in breast cancer and other solid tumors, while pirarubicin is also indicated for breast cancer, bladder cancer, and certain lymphomas. The combination may be considered investigational or off-label; it has been studied in preclinical models for enhanced antitumor effects[2][4][6].
