Overview

Epirubicin + vinorelbine is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily in the treatment of metastatic and advanced breast cancer. Epirubicin is an anthracycline antineoplastic agent that exerts its cytotoxic effects by intercalating into DNA, inhibiting topoisomerase II, and generating free radicals, leading to inhibition of nucleic acid and protein synthesis. Vinorelbine is a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid that disrupts microtubule assembly during mitosis by binding to tubulin, resulting in cell cycle arrest at metaphase. The combination has demonstrated significant activity as first-line therapy for metastatic breast cancer with manageable toxicity profiles[1][2][3][4].
