Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of epoetin (a recombinant form of human erythropoietin) and all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA). Epoetin stimulates red blood cell production by promoting the division and differentiation of erythroid progenitors in the bone marrow, while ATRA induces cell differentiation through multiple pathways including the RAF-1/MEK/ERK signaling pathway. This combination has been studied for improving erythroid response in hematologic disorders, particularly in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes and acute promyelocytic leukemia.
