Overview

INM004 is a biologic drug composed of equine (horse-derived) polyclonal antibody fragments, specifically the F(ab')2 portion, that target and neutralize Shiga toxin produced by certain strains of Escherichia coli (E. coli). The drug is administered intravenously and is being developed primarily for the prevention and treatment of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a severe kidney-related complication most often seen in children following infection with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). By binding to and neutralizing the Shiga toxin, INM004 aims to reduce or prevent kidney damage and other complications associated with HUS. The drug has received orphan designation for hemolytic uremic syndrome and hemolytic anaemia, reflecting its use in rare diseases[1][4][5].
