erlotinib + celecoxib

A combination therapy consisting of erlotinib, an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor, and celecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. This combination demonstrates synergistic anticancer effects, particularly in tumors with EGFR mutations. The combination works by simultaneously inhibiting EGFR signaling pathways and COX-2-mediated inflammation and angiogenesis, resulting in enhanced tumor growth inhibition compared to either agent alone. It has shown particular efficacy in targeting angiogenesis through modulation of the PI3K/AKT and ERK/Raf1-1 pathways in non-small cell lung cancer with EGFR exon 19 deletions.
