Aknemycin Plus Lösung is a topical combination therapy containing the macrolide antibiotic erythromycin and the retinoid tretinoin. It is indicated for the treatment of various forms of acne vulgaris, including both non-inflammatory comedonal acne and inflammatory papulopustular acne, particularly in patients with oily (seborrheic) skin. Erythromycin acts as an antibacterial agent that inhibits protein synthesis in acne-associated bacteria such as *Cutibacterium acnes*, thereby reducing bacterial colonization and local inflammation. Tretinoin, a vitamin A derivative, promotes skin cell turnover, decreases the cohesiveness of follicular epithelial cells, and facilitates the extrusion of comedones, preventing new blockages from forming. The formulation is delivered as a cutaneous solution with an integrated applicator pad, allowing for direct and hygienic application to the affected skin areas.
