Overview
ES2B-C001 + ISA 51 VD is a combination therapeutic candidate comprising **ES2B-C001**, a virus-like particle (VLP)-based vaccine targeting the extracellular domain of **HER2** (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2), and **ISA 51 VD** (Montanide ISA 51), a water-in-oil emulsion adjuvant designed to enhance immunogenicity. The combination aims to induce a potent polyclonal anti-HER2 immune response for the treatment of **HER2-expressing cancers**, primarily metastatic breast cancer. ES2B-C001 acts as a HER2 antagonist, generating anti-HER2 antibodies and eliciting cellular immune responses. ISA 51 VD enhances the cytotoxic T-lymphocyte response and prolongs antigen presentation, thereby boosting vaccine efficacy. Preclinical studies have shown that the combination effectively inhibits tumor growth, prevents metastasis, and sustains long-term immune protection in HER2-positive tumor models. Clinical trials for this combination are in phase I for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer[1][3][5][7].
