Overview

Exilam Plus 10 is a combination pharmaceutical product marketed by ADN Life Sciences, primarily indicated for the management of anxiety disorders, particularly when associated with comorbid depression. It contains two active ingredients: escitalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), and etizolam, a thienodiazepine. Escitalopram works by increasing the levels of serotonin in the synaptic cleft by inhibiting its reuptake into the presynaptic neuron, thereby improving mood and reducing anxiety symptoms. Etizolam acts as a potent anxiolytic by binding to the benzodiazepine site of the GABA-A receptor, enhancing the inhibitory effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) throughout the central nervous system. This combination provides both long-term stabilization of mood and rapid relief from acute anxiety symptoms. It is typically administered orally in tablet form.
