This drug is a bismuth-containing quadruple therapy (BQT) regimen specifically evaluated by Shandong University for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* infection. The regimen consists of esomeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor), amoxicillin (a penicillin-type antibiotic), clarithromycin (a macrolide antibiotic), and colloidal bismuth pectin (a mucosal protective agent). Esomeprazole functions by inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase pump in gastric parietal cells, thereby reducing acid secretion and creating a more favorable environment for antibiotic activity. Amoxicillin and clarithromycin provide synergistic antimicrobial action by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis and protein synthesis, respectively. Colloidal bismuth pectin provides a protective coating on the gastric mucosa and exerts direct antimicrobial effects against *H. pylori*. This combination was utilized in a 15-year prospective cohort study to assess its long-term impact on gastric inflammation, atrophy, and intestinal metaplasia.
