Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Arm C-Fudan University-breast cancer (metastatic) refers to a specific therapeutic regimen evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial (NCT01069081) conducted by Fudan University. This regimen consists of a high-dose proton pump inhibitor (PPI), esomeprazole, administered in combination with a standard chemotherapy doublet of docetaxel and cisplatin. The study was designed to test the hypothesis that high-dose PPIs can improve the efficacy of chemotherapy in patients with metastatic breast cancer by modulating the acidic tumor microenvironment and potentially reversing pH-dependent multidrug resistance. In this specific arm, esomeprazole was administered orally at 100 mg twice daily for three days prior to and during the chemotherapy cycle, while docetaxel and cisplatin were both administered intravenously at 75 mg/m² every 21 days.
