Overview
Estradiol valerate + sildenafil is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents used primarily in reproductive medicine, particularly for the management of thin endometrium in women undergoing fertility treatments such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF). Estradiol valerate is a synthetic estrogen that promotes endometrial proliferation by binding to estrogen receptors, thereby stimulating growth and thickening of the uterine lining. Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor that enhances nitric oxide-mediated vasodilation, increasing blood flow to the uterus and potentially improving endometrial receptivity. The combination has been studied for its potential to increase endometrial thickness and improve pregnancy outcomes in women with infertility related to poor endometrial response[1][4]. However, clinical trials have shown mixed results regarding its efficacy over monotherapy with either agent[1][4].
