Etanercept + warfarin is a combination of two pharmaceutical drugs administered together. Etanercept is a biologic fusion protein that acts as a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitor, used primarily to treat autoimmune and inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and plaque psoriasis. It works by binding to TNF-alpha and preventing its interaction with cell surface receptors, thereby reducing inflammation[3][4][5]. Warfarin is an oral anticoagulant that inhibits vitamin K-dependent clotting factors in the liver and is widely used for the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disorders. The coadministration of etanercept and warfarin does not result in clinically significant pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic interactions; studies have shown no need for dosage adjustment when these drugs are given together[2][7]. Each drug retains its individual mechanism of action.
