Overview

Etoricoxib + cyanocobalamin is an oral fixed-dose combination of two active pharmaceutical ingredients: etoricoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, and cyanocobalamin, a synthetic form of vitamin B12. Etoricoxib acts by selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation. Cyanocobalamin serves as a vitamin B12 replacement to correct or prevent deficiency states. This combination is being developed primarily for the treatment of acute pain, with phase III clinical trials completed in Mexico. The product is not considered a new molecular entity and does not have orphan drug status[1][2][4].
