Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fancox is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing etoricoxib and paracetamol (acetaminophen), developed and marketed by Thrift Pharmaceuticals. Etoricoxib is a highly selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor that reduces the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins. Paracetamol is a widely used central analgesic and antipyretic agent. Together, they provide synergistic, dual-action relief from pain and inflammation with a lower risk of gastrointestinal side effects compared to traditional non-selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Fancox is approved and marketed for managing mild-to-moderate pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, joint diseases, and post-operative recovery.
