Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EV71 + SIV refers to a combination vaccine regimen involving the Enterovirus 71 (EV71) vaccine and the seasonal influenza vaccine (SIV). The EV71 vaccine is an inactivated, aluminum phosphate-adjuvanted preparation developed primarily for the prevention of hand, foot, and mouth disease caused by enterovirus 71 infection in children. The SIV is a standard inactivated influenza virus vaccine used for seasonal flu prevention. This combination is being studied to assess immunogenicity and safety when both vaccines are administered together, particularly in pediatric populations[1]. The mechanism of action involves stimulating immune responses against both enterovirus 71 and influenza viruses.
