Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Everolimus + tamoxifen is a combination therapy that pairs an mTOR inhibitor (everolimus) with a selective estrogen receptor modulator (tamoxifen). This combination has shown efficacy in treating hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer that has developed resistance to aromatase inhibitors. The addition of everolimus helps overcome endocrine resistance by inhibiting the mTOR pathway, which is often activated in hormone-resistant breast cancer.
