Overview

**EVT 302 + nicotine replacement therapy** is a combination therapy consisting of EVT 302, an orally active, highly selective, and reversible inhibitor of monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B), together with a standard nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) such as transdermal patch or gum. EVT 302 is designed to reduce nicotine withdrawal symptoms and craving by inhibiting the breakdown of dopamine in the brain, potentially supporting smoking cessation. The combination has been investigated in clinical studies to assess whether EVT 302 can improve outcomes compared to NRT alone, specifically targeting reduction of craving and withdrawal in smokers[1][3][5][6]. Clinical studies to date have indicated that while EVT 302 is well tolerated, the combination did not show significant acute effects on craving versus NRT alone; its effect on longer-term quit rates remains under evaluation[6].
