Overview

Ex-vivo expanded allogeneic γδ T cells are an adoptive cell therapy being developed by Xijing Hospital for the treatment of resectable Stage III-IV melanoma. These cells are derived from healthy donors via apheresis, followed by ex-vivo expansion and activation before being adoptively transfused into patients. γδ T cells are a unique subset of T lymphocytes that bridge innate and adaptive immunity, capable of recognizing and killing tumor cells in a major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-independent manner. In clinical evaluation, these cells are often administered as part of a neoadjuvant or adjuvant regimen in combination with recombinant human interferon-alpha1b (IFN-α1b) or PD-1 monoclonal antibodies like pembrolizumab to enhance anti-tumor immune responses and improve clinical outcomes.
