Overview

A combination of two hormonal therapies used in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. Exemestane is a steroidal aromatase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of indrogens to estrogen, while tamoxifen is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that blocks estrogen receptors. The combination has been studied both as concurrent therapy and as sequential treatment.
